Mississippi State reached into Ole Miss’ backyard Monday to add to its 2017 recruiting class and landed a commitment from 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back prospect Tyler Carmichael-Williams.

Williams took to Twitter to announce his commitment to the Bulldogs:

Williams does not currently have an offer from Ole Miss but does have offers from Cincinnati, Memphis, UAB, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech among others. The defensive back registered 25 tackles, seven pass break ups and two interceptions as a junior according to 247Sports. He does not have a star ranking at this time.

Despite not yet being on the radar of the national recruiting services, State’s head coach Dan Mullen was excited to share the news via his Twitter account:

MSU now has 13 total commitments lined up in their 2017 recruiting class, which is currently ranked as the No. 10 class in the nation by 247Sports.
