Dipping into the junior college ranks yet again, Dan Mullen and the Mississippi State Bulldogs came out with a talented prospect.

2017 JUCO safety Johnathan Abram announced on Twitter that he has signed with MSU:

Ranked as the nation’s No. 1 JUCO safety by 247Sports, Abram chose the Bulldogs over offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, LSU, Arizona State, Georgia, Houston, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Tennessee, among others.

It’s quite obvious that Abram is a potentially special player. He’s a physical presence in the back — possessing the ability to come up in the box and punish ball-carriers, whilst also covering speedy receivers in space.

Starting free safety Kivon Coman is graduating. As such, it opens up a spot for Abram to walk right into.
