Without sophomore quarterback Nick Fitzgerald in the lineup, no way Mississippi State destroys Ole Miss 55-20 in Oxford during the 2016 version of the Egg Bowl.

The Bulldogs first-year starter under center racked up 109 passing yards and three touchdowns to go along with 258 rushing yards and another two scores against the Rebels on Saturday. During his postgame press conference, MSU head coach Dan Mullen was asked about the other schools involved in recruitment of his playmaking quarterback.

His response did not disappoint. (Check it out in the video above)

For what it’s worth, Fitzgerald’s 247Sports recruiting profile lists Middle Tennessee State as another school that offered the quarterback out of high school. Fitzgerald also rated as the nation’s No. 1548 overall prospect in the 2014 class.

It’s times like these when you realize the recruiting rankings aren’t always what they are cracked up to be.
