Assessing Ole Miss' 2015 recruiting class

Ole Miss is in the process of piecing together its third consecutive top 20 recruiting class, featuring six four-star prospects and 10 three-star prospects among the 16 players in the class.

Head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have put in work to add reinforcements at some positions of need entering 2015, including in the secondary, along the offensive line and in the linebacker corps. The Rebels earned commitments from four-star offensive linemen Javon Patterson and Drew Richmond to complement All-SEC offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. Aside from Tunsil, Ole Miss struggled up front in 2014, allowing the third-most sacks and second-most tackles for loss in the SEC.

Ole Miss also signed top JUCO cornerback Tony Bridges and earned a commitment from touted three-star safety Armani Linton, which could help it replace departing All-American defensive backs Senquez Golson and Cody Prewitt. The Rebels also signed three-star linebacker Terry Caldwell and earned a commitment from four-star linebacker Leo Lewis, which could help replace departing starters Serderius Bryant and Deterrian Shackelford.

Because Ole Miss is losing one of the smallest senior classes in the SEC, it will likely boast one of the smallest 2015 recruiting classes in the conference. The Rebels’ 16 signees and commits are a perfect fit for the 16 scholarships they have available for next season.
