Hugh Freeze and the Ole Miss Rebels are going through a tough week.

After being soundly beaten by LSU last Saturday, two 2017 commitments reneged on their respective pledges. Highly-touted linebacker Willie Gay decommitted after taking an official visit to Michigan.

On Tuesday, defensive end prospect Bryan Jones announced his decommitment via Twitter:

This is a considerable loss for the Rebels. Jones — a Baton Rouge native — had offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi State and South Carolina. LSU and Texas also appear to be players in his recruitment.

A 3-star prospect, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound defender is an exceptional player rushing off of the edge. Jones has long arms to pair with good initial quickness. While he does need to get bigger and stronger, one can see the immense set of tools Jones has to work with.

As it currently stands, Ole Miss now has 10 public verbal commitments.
