The Ole Miss Rebels will cap one of their best seasons in school history with an appearance in a New Year’s Six bowl this winter.

The College Football Playoff selection committee announced Sunday afternoon that Ole Miss will take on co-Big 12 champion TCU in this year’s Chick Fil A Peach Bowl, to be played in Atlanta on Dec. 31 at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Rebels closed the regular season ranked No. 9 in the final CFP Top 25, while TCU closed the year ranked No. 6. The two schools have faced six previous times in their histories, and Ole Miss won five of those meetings including the last four. The Rebels and Horned Frogs haven’t met on the gridiron since 1983.

Ole Miss closed the season with a 9-3 record and a 5-3 record in the SEC, while TCU closed 2014 with an 11-1 record and an 8-1 record in the Big 12.

This marks Ole Miss’ third consecutive bowl berth since the arrival of head coach Hugh Freeze prior to the 2012 season.
