Robert Nkemdiche wasted no time signing a contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

The team announced that Nkemdiche, who was chosen with the No. 29 overall pick in this year’s draft, agreed to a four-year deal with the defending NFC West champions on Friday.

Nkemdiche can be seen here putting pen to paper on the same day the franchise opened its three-day rookie minicamp.

The former Ole Miss defensive tackle was a two-time All-SEC selection and second-team All-American.

Off-the-field incidents resulted in the presumptive top 10 talent not even being a first-round pick among many draft experts. However, the Cardinals selected Nkemdiche near the very end of the first round.

Last season, the Cardinals were one game away from reaching the Super Bowl, losing to Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship Game.

Arizona is hoping Nkemdiche can help with a pass-rush that regressed last season (20th in sacks) after being one of the best at getting to the quarterback in 2013 (7th) and 2014 (5th).

Nkemdiche is the second of the Rebels’ big three to sign after left tackle Laremy Tunsil signed with the Miami Dolphins earlier on Friday.
