One of two quarterbacks in Hugh Freeze’s 2015 class at Ole Miss, three-star Jason Pellerin (New Iberia, La.) is an underrated dual-threat playmaker who says a late offer from home-state LSU wouldn’t be enough to sway him away from the Rebels, a team he has been committed to since June.

“Right now, it’s a firm commitment to Ole Miss,” Pellerin told NOLA.com during the first week of December. “I knew that once I committed that’s where I wanted to go. A commitment is a commitment to me and I keep a promise, and I felt that Ole Miss is a great place for me.”

Pellerin is still a year or two away from becoming an impact player in Oxford, but his time clock will speed up if JUCO transfer Chad Kelly’s recent skirmish with local law enforcement results in a suspension or possible dismissal.

“No matter where I go, I’m going to have to compete, so I’m not worried about (Kelly) at all,” Pellerin told 247Sports’ David Johnson this month.
