Positional recruiting bundles are massive for programs that are building serious depth.

Programs with big-time hauls at certain positions can create lasting impressions on either the offense or defense, and they can help pave the way towards a championship.

Recruiting bundles take prospects wanting to play together. Everybody’s a big fish in a little pond in high school, but it takes highly rated prospects swallowing their pride and wanting to win a championship to actually sign multiple players at a position.

Three teams stick out that could sign some impressive hauls this recruiting cycle. Let’s dig in…

Georgia Defensive Line

Current commits: 5-star DE Julian Rochester, 4-star DE Chauncey Manac, 4-star DT Tyler Clark
Biggest targets: 5-star DT Rashan Gary, 5-star DT Derrick Brown, 4-star DT Michail Carter, 4-star DL Antwuan Jackson
Buzz: Georgia defensive line coach Tracy Rocker is putting together an incredible recruiting class. It helps that there are some diamonds in the state along the defensive line, certainly, but this class is already incredible with Julian Rochester, Chauncey Manac and Tyler Clark. However, two five-stars are still on the hook in the top overall player in the country, Rashan Gary, and five-star DT Derrick Brown. Gary is from New Jersey, and Georgia has led for in-state Brown for quite some time. The Bulldogs can’t sign everyone, and it’s filling up fast. Remember, Georgia plays mostly three down linemen, and this position could be incredible on National Signing Day. It would likely be the best positional haul of any SEC team.

LSU Defensive Backs

Current commits: 5-star CB Savion Smith, 4-star S Eric Monroe, 4-star CB Andraez Williams, 4-star S Cameron Lewis, 3-star S Clifford Chattman
Biggest targets: 4-star CB Kristian Fulton, 4-star CB Trayvon Mullen
Buzz: The SEC’s Defensive Back U is loading up with elite defensive backs. With top corner Savion Smith already on board, he’s the impact player, assuming he sticks. The Florida native is as elite as any player in the country. With three other four-stars — Eric Monroe, Andraez Williams and Cameron Lewis — along with three-star Clifford Chattman, LSU’s defensive backs aren’t going anywhere. The Tigers could also legitimately pull either Kristian Fulton or Trayvon Mullen, with Fulton being the in-state prospect here. Regardless of how the class finishes, if LSU can just hold onto its current commits, this backfield will be loaded.

Florida Wide Receivers

Current commits: 3-star Joshua Hammond, 3-star Rick Wells, 3-star Isaiah Johnson
Biggest targets: 4-star Sam Bruce (Miami commit), 4-star Binjimen Victor, 4-star Cavin Ridley
Buzz: The Gators are putting together a really good wide receiver class, a position that has been noticeably lacking in recent history. Florida already has three players committed, and all have nice size as bigger, physical receivers. Joshua Hammond is really making a name for himself this summer. However, the bigger fish remain at large. Four-star electric receiver Sam Bruce is committed to Miami, but he’s best friends with incoming freshman running back Jordan Scarlett. Bruce is on flip watch. Also, elite receivers Binjimen Victor and Cavin Ridley are really looking the Gators’ way. Florida could have a shot at all three of its top targets left on the board.

We’ll look at other good positional hauls in the coming weeks.
