Three of the SEC’s best running backs have been named semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award.

Derrick Henry of Alabama, Leonard Fournette of LSU and Alex Collins of Arkansas are all in the running for the award, which is given to the best running back in college football.

Henry has rushed for 1,458 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. The junior has also caught nine passes for 69 yards. He has helped the Crimson Tide start the season 9-1 and climb to No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Fournette has run for 1,474 yards and 17 touchdowns. The sophomore also has 10 receptions for 94 yards. He helped the Tigers win their first seven games and climb as high as No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings. LSU is currently 7-2 and ranked 15th in the CFP.

Collins has rushed for 1,209 yards and 14 touchdowns, while catching nine passes for 90 yards. He has helped the Razorbacks win their last four games, including consecutive upsets of nationally-ranked Ole Miss and LSU. Arkansas is 6-4.

The other Doak Walker semifinalists are: Florida State’s Dalvin Cook, Utah’s Devontae Booker, Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott, Oregon’s Royce Freeman, Wyoming’s Brian Hill, Baylor’s Shock Linwood, Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey and Notre Dame’s C.J. Prosise.

The three finalists for the award will be named on Nov. 24. The award will be given out on Dec. 10 during The Home Depot College Football Awards show.
