The SEC’s 2017 draft class in the backfield could be its best ever, but next year’s class has a couple highly-ranked ballcarriers as well, according to ESPN insider Todd McShay.

In his latest position rankings released Tuesday, McShay labeled Alabama’s Derrick Henry as college football’s second-best underclassman at the position and No. 2 overall in the 2016 draft behind Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott. Mizzou’s Russell Hansbrough, who rushed for 1,084 yards last season as a junior, comes in at No. 9 as a projected early-round selection.

McShay spends several hours a day throughout the year watching film and scouting over 700 college prospects at all levels for the next draft. You can read his comprehensive scouting reports on each player, here.
