While the SEC lacks proven and elite quarterbacks, it won’t lack talent at wide receiver. The conference is receiving an influx of great receiving talent in 2015, headlined by the SEC West.

Here are the top incoming freshmen wide receivers and tight ends for 2015:

Editor’s note: Saturday Down South’s references to ratings follow the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

Wide Receivers

1. Calvin Ridley, Alabama (Pompano Beach, FL)
The Skinny: Calvin Ridley is a big play threat every time he touches the football. Ridley is a different player than an Amari Cooper-like receiver. Ridley will absolutely stretch opposing defenses, and his film is electric. Alabama needs impact players at receiver, and Ridley should see time during his first season with the Crimson Tide.

2. Christian Kirk, Texas A&M (Scottsdale, AZ)
The Skinny: Christian Kirk is one of the top impact players in this recruiting class. His presence will be felt on offense and on special teams returning kicks and punts, and he could even see time in the backfield. He reminds me of former WVU WR Tavon Austin, and ironically, OC Jake Spavital coached Austin in Morgantown. It’s the second year in a row that Texas A&M went to Arizona and cherry-picked the state’s top prospect.

3. Tyron Johnson, LSU (New Orleans, LA)
The Skinny: LSU has impact wide receivers all over the roster, but the Tigers still lack a proven and established passing game. Johnson is an electric playmaker who could make an instant splash, but Cam Cameron and Les Miles have to develop a quarterback. Johnson is one of the best pure receivers in this recruiting class, and he’ll be a big-time talent once on campus.

4. Damarkus Lodge, Ole Miss (Cedar Hill, TX)
The Skinny: From a pure catching standpoint, no one in this class can go get the football like Damarkus Lodge. He’s the most poised of any of the receivers, and he should be an impact player for the Rebels, combining forces with Laquon Treadwell, Damore’ea Stringfellow and Van Jefferson. That’s one talented receiving rotation, but Lodge could become better than all of them.

5. Preston Williams, Tennessee (Hamtpon, GA)
The Skinny: Preston Williams will join an already loaded receiving rotation for the Vols. He’s an instant-impact talent, but with already great receiving depth, Williams could be a redshirt candidate in 2015. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if he breaks into the rotation quickly.

Tight Ends

1. Hale Hentges, Alabama (Jefferson City, MO)
The Skinny: Alabama received a huge pull with one of Missouri’s top prospects in Hale Hentges. He has a nice frame and is a different style tight end than OJ Howard, meaning he’s a better blocker. He could work his way into the rotation for Lane Kiffin’s offense, mostly as a blocker in 2015.

2. Jackson Harris, Georgia (Columbia, TN)
The Skinny: Georgia continues to sign some of the SEC’s top tight ends every year. Jackson Harris is just the latest. The Tennessee native has a big frame and is already enrolled in Athens, increasing his chances to make an impact in 2015. Harris and Jeb Blazevich are a nasty duo.

3. CJ O’Grady, Arkansas (Fayetteville, AR)
The Skinny: Like Georgia, Arkansas has a fantastic history with great tight ends. CJ O’Grady is a higher ranked player than Will Gragg, who could be an instant impact performer, too. The Hogs have the SEC’s best tight end depth and players.
