The 2016 recruiting cycle was a coup of sorts for the SEC, which landed the top two pro-style quarterbacks available as well as the top-rated dual-threat prospect.

Eight of the top 20 quarterbacks in that class, as ranked by 247Sports.com’s composite, picked SEC schools. No other Power 5 conference grabbed more than four. Given all of the consternation about recent quarterback play, that bodes well for the SEC’s future.

Here’s a look at how the 2017 quarterback class is shaping up, as well as a refresher on the previous four classes.

Georgia, which landed Jacob Eason in 2016, has a commitment from Jake Fromm, ranked fourth in this class. Tate Martell is one of the two top 20 quarterbacks still looking.
