South Carolina alum Darius Rucker, a country music star and former lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, gave his favorite college football team motivation to become bowl eligible in 2016.

A Twitter user suggested Rucker should play at South Carolina’s stadium if the Gamecocks reached six wins.

Rucker responded by saying he’d be thrilled to play at the Horseshoe again:

South Carolina president Harris Pastides said he’s on board with having Rucker back in Columbia:

Now for the hard part: South Carolina is going to have trouble getting to six wins this season.

But, on the bright side, maybe the thought of a Darius Rucker concert will spur the Gamecocks to play better than most analysts are predicting in 2016.
