Marcus Lattimore's NFL dream comes true, will be activated by 49ers on Monday
After Marcus Lattimore suffered a severe injury to his right knee against Tennessee on Oct. 27, 2012, many wondered if Lattimore’s playing days were over.
Injuries to multiple ligaments in his right knee have kept him off the football field since that fateful afternoon, but the former Gamecock great is close to finally realizing his dream of playing in the NFL.
It was reported last night that he will be activated by the San Francisco 49ers this Monday, exactly two years after suffering his gruesome and horrific knee injury.

The 49ers selected Lattimore in the fourth-round of the 2013 NFL Draft, despite knowing the lengthy rehab process he would have to undergo in order to return to the field. Lattimore, a former All-American and first-team All-SEC, rushed for 2,677 yards and 38 touchdowns in just 29 games with the Gamecocks.
Both his sophomore and junior seasons were cut short following knee injuries.
News of Lattimore’s activation by the 49ers is certainly something all South Carolina fans — and even all college football fans — will be thrilled to hear.
