The murmurs have been getting louder in recent weeks as Alabama fans dare to ask the question: Is the 2011 running back duo of Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy even better than Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson in recent years? Look at these statistics…

The Crimson Tide did exactly as expected Saturday in the dismantling of Kent State. The defense displayed why they are considered one of the top defenses in the country and the running game got the job done just as it has over the past few years.

Alabama has a very stable group of running backs in Tuscaloosa in Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy. Both will be very crucial for the Tide in order to compete for the West and make noise on the national scene as well.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are predicted by most to win the SEC East. The Gamecocks will need to shore up their secondary, but the defense is ready for an impact season in 2011 under the direction of Ellis Johnson.

The 2011 crop of SEC talent that should be drafted by NFL teams tonight is pretty nasty. How does it stack up against the SEC first rounders from the 2010 draft? Let’s take a look.
