Former Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen had a meeting with Houston coach Tom Herman on Sunday, John P. Lopez of Sports Radio 610 in Houston reports.

Allen had started in parts of two seasons, appearing in 14 games for the Aggies. Herman had recruited Allen while Herman was offensive coordinator at Ohio State and appears to be getting a second bite at the apple with the former five-star quarterback now out on the transfer market.

Allen passed for more than 3,500 yards and more than 30 touchdowns. He announced late last week his intention to transfer from Texas A&M and the university announced a release from his scholarship.
