John Chavis met with the media for the first time this spring, touching on a variety of subjects. Check the video to see what he had to say.

Most significantly, Chavis declined to comment on the lawsuit he’s filed against both LSU and Texas A&M. Chavis is suing over the $400,000 buyout LSU alleges he owes the school. Chavis claims he does not owe his former employer the buyout fee, and if he does owe the money that Texas A&M should pay all or part of the sum.

The rest of Chavis’ media session was filled with excitement about the start of his tenure with the Aggies. He said he’d like to retire at Texas A&M after “eight to 10 years.” Chavis also said he inherited “SEC talent” and that the defense is ready to work to get better.
