For the second straight season, No. 10 Texas A&M (3-0, 1-0) has made an early leap into the top 10 of the AP Top 25 poll after starting the preseason as an unranked team.

The Aggies are coming off a strong 29-16 when on the road at Auburn, but things don’t get any easier this week when they host No. 17 Arkansas, which also has yet to suffer a loss in 2016.

Here’s what coach Kevin Sumlin had to say during Wednesday’s SEC teleconference:

On what QB Trevor Knight has done well that doesn’t show up on the box score:

“Winning.”

On if Sumlin can elaborate on previous comment:

“No, he’s moved the football, he hasn’t been perfect but we asked him to come into a situation with a lot of expectations. He’s surrounded by talent. Our coaches have learned about him and he has learned about us.”

On the rivalries in college football and whether coaches have an obligation to play those:

“Well it’s a misnomer that coaches have input on that. These games are 5-to-10 years out, we changed leagues and that made things difficult. It may have watered down our schedule but the lack of rivalries can’t really be put on the coaches typically. I do have some input there, but I’m on my third AD in my time here so that can change, too.”

On four-game winning streak against Arkansas:

“I don’t know, I don’t look at series streaks. It has nothing to do with Saturday, two teams won’t look at that. All we’ve done is take this team into looking at the team they will be facing and we will do the same.”

On the “punch” comments regarding Arkansas coach Bret Bielema:

“You guys have made more of that than what it is. One guy has to win, one guy has to lose. He wants to win, I want to win. ‘Don’t say anything, I might hit you,’ I knew so I didn’t say anything. We are close, it would be different if we weren’t.”
