Texas A&M received some great news on Tuesday when one of its top defenders announced he was returning for another season.

Armani Watts, the Aggies’ leading tackler in 2015, announced on Twitter that he would be back for his senior season in 2017.

Watts played in nine games last year and missed some time with a knee injury. The defensive back finished with 56 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 3 pass breakups and a sack.

This is big news for a team that could lose several key players on the defensive side of the ball. The return of Watts will provide some stability and could make for a strong secondary.
