The Texas A&M-Texas rivalry is one of the better ones within the college football landscape.

The two teams played each other every single year from 1915-2011. Once A&M left for the SEC, the rivalry ceased to exist.

Invariably, this topic is brought up each and every year. The respective fan bases would love nothing more than to see these programs square off versus one another on an annual basis.

New Texas head coach Tom Herman was introduced to the Austin brass on Sunday. Herman was not shy over what he expects to occur in the next few years:

“We’ll win championships. We’ll build men of character. We’ll graduate our players. And we will do it all with integrity and class.”

During the presser, Herman was also asked about potentially reigniting the rivalry between the Longhorns and the Aggies. His response wasn’t very forthright:

There’s plenty of time for the rivalry to eventually be rescheduled. However as for now, it doesn’t appear as if it’ll be in the cards anytime soon.
