Peyton Manning: I won't be coaching Vols
Peyton Manning reportedly told attendees of a Nashville awards ceremony that he will not be coaching the Volunteers in any way this fall, shooting down a popular rumor.
Manning was speaking at the Middle Tennessee Sports Awards, which recognized more than 150 student-athletes, when he addressed some of his post-retirement plans.

It makes sense that there were no shakeups on Butch Jones’ staff order to create an opening for Manning on coach . The next time a UT assistant leaves, however, one can imagine Manning’s name will come up in connection to filling the vacancy.
For now, it looks like Manning will enjoy watching the Volunteers as a fan. We think he’ll enjoy pulling for Team 120 from the couch.
