Sources have confirmed to FootballScoop.com that Mike DeBord will be named Tennessee’s next offensive coordinator, replacing Mike Bajakian who recently left Knoxville for a position with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Butch Jones worked on Central Michigan’s staff from 2002-03 under his new coordinator during DeBord’s unsuccessful four-year stint as head coach. DeBord has over 30 years of coaching experience at the college and NFL level and most recently served as the University of Michigan’s Olympic Sport Administrator.

The Vols aren’t expected to alter their offensive philosophy next season and Jones will continue to have a say in play-calling duties. Tennessee hopes DeBord’s hire, while not a household name in the SEC ranks, continues momentum the program has built during the recruiting season.

Jones welcomed a consensus Top 5 class to Knoxville on National Signing Day anchored by four five-stars. The Vols are considered an Eastern Division darkhorse in 2015.
