Texas (1-4, 0-2) entered today’s game against Oklahoma under heavy criticism.

Much of that has been reserved for former Florida coordinator and Louisville coach Charlie Strong, especially after the team lost 50-7 to TCU last week.

The Longhorns and Sooners are playing in Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. A loss would put Texas in major trouble in terms of reaching a bowl game, as Kansas State, West Virginia and Baylor all remain on the schedule.

Normally, field entrances and exits are important sports moments because of the intimacy — fans are sometimes close enough to touch players.

As Texas took the field Saturday, a black tarp blocked fans from seeing the players, and presumably kept them from shouting obscenities or even endangering any of the Longhorns contingent.

Decide for yourself: is this a sad representation of the state of Texas football, or a reason to rub it in the faces of everyone wearing burnt orange?
