Former Ole Miss QB Maikhail Miller has died after an automobile accident on Saturday, according to reports.

According to a report by ActionNews5, it happened on Highway 78 near Holly Springs, Miss.

Rebels coach Hugh Freeze reacted on Twitter:

Miller was a member of the Rebels’ 2012 signing class and played in two games at quarterback that fall.

He ran twice for 15 yards in a win against Central Arkansas in his college debut, and also rushed four times for 8 yards against Tulane.

Miller transferred to Murray State the following season.

Though he played for Freeze, Miller originally committed to former Rebels coach Houston Nutt, who offered comment to DJournal.com:

“My heart is so sad tonight when I received the news on Maikhail. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know you are hurting,” Nutt said in a text message. “What a great young man you raised!! Maikhail always did things the RIGHT WAY.”

Miller was 23 years old.
