After running the gauntlet of one athletic director after another in recent years, including a multitude of interim ADs, Missouri has reportedly set its sights on bringing San Diego State AD Jim Sterk to Columbia.

Sterk will replace Mack Rhodes, who left the school to become the athletic director at Baylor in early July. Rhodes was on the job for just over a year before leaving for Waco.

Missouri looks to be getting an experienced candidate, as Sterk has served as San Diego State’s AD for six years after serving as Washington State’s AD for 10 years and Portland State’s AD for six years. An alumnus of Western Washington University, Sterk is in the school’s hall of fame following his career as a linebacker at the school.
