Through an open records request, the Courier-Journal received every Kentucky athletics self-reported rules violation — 17 total for all sports — over the last year.

Football only self-reported two violations, but one involved Netflix documentary “Last Chance U” star Brittany Wagner.

The report states that assistant coach Lamar Thomas provided two tickets to the Southern Miss game to Wagner. At the time, Wagner was an academic advisor at East Mississippi Community College. The violation occurred when Wagner received tickets from the coach and not through the pass list for recruits. Thomas said he was unaware of who Wagner was, because the request came from an unnamed SEC Network color commentator.

Kentucky and the SEC took additional measures to make sure it doesn’t happen again. UK conducted an additional rules education for staff members, and the SEC told UK it couldn’t conduct any in-person off-campus contact with prospects from Wagner’s institution for 30 days.

Wagner became a fan favorite during the documentary. She recently announced that she would be starting a new venture in her career.

The only other football violation that happened was when a coach meant to send a recruit a direct message on Twitter about his commitment, but he accidentally made it public.
