UAB is 5-3 this season and has a C-USA stretch to close the season that includes Rice, UTSA and UTEP.

But a new advanced statistical projection by SB Nation’s Bill Connelly projects UAB to knock off Florida when they meet on Nov. 18 in Gainesville. The Gators have lost three straight and are dealing with the coaching departure of Jim McElwain and move to Randy Shannon being named interim coach.

Connelly listed Florida as having a 47 percent chance to beat the Blazers with a projected score in the UAB win of 27.1-25.9.

The Gators are not projected to win another game this season until Florida State on Nov. 25, a matchup that’s pegged as having a 51 percent chance for a Gators’ victory.

Florida now has an 18.5 percent chance at bowl eligibility, and most likely to have seven losses, which is listed as a 17 percent chance. The 3-4 Gators and overall, are most likely to have between six and eight losses.

This week, Florida will travel to Missouri and play at noon in a game to be televised on ESPN2.
