The South Carolina Gamecocks recently fired OC Kurt Roper after only two seasons on the job, and will now look for his replacement.

Coach Will Muschamp needs to find the right coach to help develop sophomore QB Jake Bentley moving forward, which will be the key to how high the Gamecocks will rise over the next couple of years.

As the search gets underway, many candidates have emerged as possibilities in Columbia, including UCLA OC Jedd Fisch and Toledo OC Brian Wright, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg:

Fisch is gaining some traction for a couple of open OC positions around the country, so it’ll be interesting to see if Muschamp can get him to Columbia.

Whoever takes the job, though, they’ll get the chance to work with one of the SEC’s best quarterbacks in Bentley and a returning star wide receiver in Deebo Samuel.
