During Florida State’s loss to Michigan in the Elite Eight on Saturday night, the Seminoles opted not to foul while trailing by four points with 11 seconds left. That decision by coach Leonard Hamilton was called into question following the final buzzer.

As you can see here, Hamilton gave a very contentious and strange answer when asked about the endgame strategy by reporter Dana Jacobsen, drawing even more criticism his way.

On Sunday afternoon, Hamilton apologized for his actions, saying he should have handled the loss better than he did:

In the heat of the moment, competitors are always a little fired up. And, after a big loss, it’s often tough to compose yourself so quickly.

However, Hamilton was right to apologize for his actions, as he is supposed to be the leader of the team through thick and thin.
