LSU RB Derrius Guice is considered by many to be the No. 2 running back in the 2018 NFL Draft, behind only Saquon Barkley of Penn State.

Guice is being talked about as either a late-first or early-second round pick, so he likely won’t be on the board for long when the draft starts next week.

On Wednesday, Guice joined NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” and talked about a number of topics. But, at the 4:15 mark of the below video, he discusses the best advice he’s received from New Orleans Saints (and former Tennessee) RB Alvin Kamara:

“The advice he has told me about the NFL is you’ve got to come in ready to go,” Guice said. “You’ve got to prepare yourself. It’s a business and, at the end of the day, it’s a faster speed. That’s the biggest difference.

“So the main thing is really getting into the playbook and knowing the integrity of every play, which is knowing what everyone else is doing. You can’t go in just knowing what the running back does. You’re going to be used as a receiver too, like Alvin Kamara was.”

Considering Kamara was the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year this year, he’ll be a great mentor for Guice. Now, it’s up to the former Tiger to live up to expectations at the next level.
