You’d think Ed Orgeron would be a little more prepared to answer questions about Jimbo Fisher’s hire at Texas A&M before arriving at a speaking engagement in Houston. If that’s something you can agree on, you’d be very wrong.

During his Wednesday appearance at the Houston Touchdown Club, Orgeron was asked to share his thoughts on Fisher’s offseason hire in College Station and gave complete no answers to three questions regarding the subject.

No doubt, the hire is likely a touchy subject for Coach O and LSU as the school unsuccessfully tried to lure Fisher back to Baton Rouge — although for the first time as a head coach. After the latest failed attempt, LSU turned its attention to Tom Herman. Once the school realized Herman and his representatives were playing hardball during discussions, AD Joe Alleva handed the job to Orgeron on a full-time basis.

Now with Fisher in College Station, the Texas A&M coach is tasked with ending the seven-game losing streak to LSU. The two programs next meet Nov. 24 in College Station. The budding rivalry, if you can even call it that considering the lopsided nature of the last few games, should gain plenty of momentum in the coming seasons with the former LSU assistant now running the Aggie program.

Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle shared a video of Orgeron’s reaction on Twitter:
