South Carolina lands commitment from two-sport athlete Brandon Fields

South Carolina’s baseball and football programs got better in a single commitment as Orlando native Brandon Fields announced his verbal pledge to the Gamecocks on Tuesday evening.

The star Dr. Phillips baseball player has been named as an All-State player in Florida and is a rising 2020 running back prospect. While he’s only rated as a three-star football prospect at this time by 247Sports Composite Rankings, he’s considered one of the nation’s top baseball prospects; however, Florida, Michigan and Ohio State have all offered him scholarships in football.

If Fields does end up playing football for the Gamecocks, he would be the fourth commitment for the program’s 2020 recruiting cycle at this time.
