Sometimes, to land a highly rated player, you have to think outside the box.
That’s what LSU is doing on Monday, as the Tigers have offered a scholarship to a junior college defensive lineman who is the older brother of a 5-star 2019 defensive tackle.
As you can see below, Louisiana native Rodney Sopsher, who currently plays for Ellsworth Community College in Iowa, announced he had received an offer from LSU on Monday:

Rodney Sopsher is not yet rated by the 247Sports composite, and LSU is currently his only offer. Sopsher’s brother, though, has plenty of offers.
Sopsher’s younger brother, Ishmael, is a 5-star defensive tackle and the No. 6 overall player in the 247Sports composite 2019 rankings. If Rodney commits to LSU soon, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think Ishmael could be close behind.
