The college football world was shocked to hear that Miami coach Mark Richt had resigned on Sunday morning.

Richt has only been at his alma mater for three years, putting together a 26-13 record in that time. However, after getting trounced 35-3 in the Pinstripe Bowl against a Wisconsin team starting a backup quarterback, Richt decided enough was enough.

Of course, this comes after talented Miami DC Manny Diaz left to take the Temple job, so Hurricane fans aren’t happy about the timing of Richt’s departure.

There were plenty of reactions from fans on Twitter, and here’s a look at some of the best tweets:

Now, Miami is on the hunt for a new coach, and it’ll be interesting to see who is in the mix.
