Auburn is set to return the entire starting offensive line from last season but in the Southeastern Conference, depth on the line of scrimmage is critical to success. Taking that into consideration, the latest news from The Plains is very unfortunate.

According to Tom Green of AL.com and Brandon Marcello of 247Sports, backup tackle Austin Troxell is expected to miss the upcoming season due to tearing his ACL. The Huntsville native appeared in 12 games for the Tigers last season after redshirting in 2017.

The former Under Armour All-American was poised to compete for a starting tackle position with a strong training camp and at the very least would have been a valuable swing lineman for the Tigers fall. Unfortunately, Troxell will not do either now and is set to miss his redshirt sophomore season following his offseason injury.
