Mike White’s Florida program is expected to be among the top contenders on the hardwood in the Southeastern Conference next season and the Gators may not yet be done building up the roster.

One player that several of the top programs in the nation are chasing is Virginia Tech graduate transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr. The Hokie big man decided to leave the program following the departure of head coach Buzz Williams to Texas A&M and the latest news suggests Blackshear is seriously considering joining the Florida program.

According to Corey Evans of Rivals, Blackshear is expected to be in Gainesville on Thursday for a visit. Kentucky is also reportedly recruiting Blackshear following his decision to leave Virginia Tech.

Blackshear played in all 35 games and averaged 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest for a Virginia Tech team that went 26-9 last season.
