Florida is just outside of a week from facing off against Miami in Orlando, and practice against the same teammates is growing old.

The Week 0 game marks the earliest game date in the history of either program, and the earliest start to the college football season since 2003. But for players like Florida RB Lamical Perine, time needs to move a little quicker.

“I feel like everybody’s excited right now and juiced up,” Perine told reporters, “tired of hitting each other and ready to go hit some Hurricanes.”

The game was originally scheduled for a week later, but ESPN requested to move the game up a week as a kickoff to start a celebration of the 150th year of college football.

The marquee game will quench the public thirst for college football that has been growing for at least a month when talking season began at SEC Media Days.

Miami leads the all-time series 29-26. The teams last met in 2013, a 21-16 win at Miami in a game coached by Will Muschamp and Al Golden.
