As a 56-year-old college football analyst with three national championship rings, Urban Meyer gets linked to every college football head coaching job that is either open or rumored to become open.

Michigan is off to an atrocious start in 2020. The Wolverines were blown out 49-11 at home by Wisconsin, dropping UM to 1-3 on the year. A vocal portion of the Michigan fanbase is ready to be done with Jim Harbaugh. As is the case with seemingly every Power 5 job, Meyer has been mentioned as a possible replacement.

College football insider Pete Thamel shot down that suggestion in a podcast clip shared on his Twitter account. Thamel gets the details a little mixed up, but his overall point stands. Meyer owns a pint house in Dublin, Ohio. The bar includes the “7-0 Room” for special events, a reference to Meyer’s perfect mark against Ohio State’s biggest rival. While 7-0 is not in the name of the bar as Thamel joked, the Yahoo Sports writer is correct in noting that the rivalry was deeply personal for Meyer.
