Nick Chubb has turned into a top tier running back in the NFL, and his performance on Sunday, even early, has put him in rare company.

The former Georgia star ran for a 47-yard touchdown in the first quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that play put him over 1,000 yards on the season. He came into the game with 959 yards and 11 touchdowns despite playing in only 11 games this season. Chubb missed those games with a sprained knee, including the first meeting with Pittsburgh.

Chubb’s touchdown made him just the third Browns player to have 12 touchdowns in a season after Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly.

In his rookie season, Chubb narrowly missed the key milestone as he had 996 rushing yards, but followed it up with a 1,494-yard season in 2019. He now has 28 touchdowns in his career.

Chubb was picked by the Browns in the second round (35th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, and has proven to be a solid choice with a promising career ahead.
