Tennessee has only had two spring practices so far, but new Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is pleased with what he’s seeing on the practice field.

Golesh met with the media on Saturday afternoon, and singled out multiple players and position groups for their performance so far.

The biggest standout? Running back Jabari Small.

Small played sparingly at running back last season, but he did flash some potential. The former 3-star recruit carried the ball 26 times for 117 yards. He also caught four passes for 24 yards.

“Jabari Small has been really impressive,” Golesh told reporters on Saturday. “That’s a guy that I think we were all excited to see what he can do.”

Golesh also gave praise to the offensive line, saying “They’ve been really impressive so far.”

“Jabari has been one, for sure,” Golesh said when asked about spring practice standouts. “And probably that [offensive line] group as a whole. Knowing how the operation works, getting on the right people, playing fast. Those two have been really impressive so far.”

Additionally, Golesh has positive things to say about the progress being made at receiver and quarterback.

Tennessee’s spring game is scheduled for April 24.
