Arkansas fans blast SEC officiating account for controversial targeting call
Grant Morgan is a team captain for Arkansas and a leader of the Razorbacks’ defense.
However, he’ll have to watch the second half of the Hogs’ season opener against Rice from the sidelines, as he was ejected for targeting in the first quarter on Saturday.
It was a controversial call, and for a team like Arkansas, which was hit by several tough calls from SEC officials in 2020, there’s still a bit of shell shock.
So, after the call against Morgan, fans flooded to Twitter to take out their frustrations on the @SECOfficiating account.

@sec @SECOfficiating You’re already sucking! No way that’s targeting! NO WAY! There was more helmet to helmet when our CB actually made the tackle. It’s football and the head/helmet is a part of the body. Pathetic!

Hey @SECOfficiating…you still suck! You had all off season to get better and apparently you did no work.

There’s that @SECOfficiating we’re use to. Shoulder pads are now the crown of your helmet. Is there more of a joke than @sec replay?

Unreal how helmet to helmet works depending on what team you play for @SECOfficiating

@SECOfficiating couldn’t make it a single quarter without giving Arkansas a targeting penalty. Absolute disgrace.

Yeah, safe to say SEC officials are still not loved in Fayetteville.
