Ja’Marr Chase has had a big-time rookie season for the Cincinnati Bengals, and one of the reasons why is his relationship and on-field chemistry with QB Joe Burrow, which largely comes from their days as LSU teammates.

“Sometimes we can look at each other, sometimes Joe might not even look at me and I know what he’s thinking,” Chase said during an interview on CBS Sports with Boomer Esiason. “That just came from the years at college and the offseason working with him.”

Chase said Burrow made him better because he’s the younger person, and the quarterback helped him read film and look for tendencies.

Chase has 27 catches for 553 yards entering Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. He’s made 5 touchdowns this season. He’s won the Rookie of the Week award from the NFL 3 times this season.
