Jake Bentley suffered a serious injury on Saturday and was forced to leave the South Alabama game on a cart

Bentley’s sixth season of collegiate eligibility may be be in jeopardy. WSFA 12 News’ Hailey Sutton reported that Bentley was carted off the field at halftime of the Jaguars’ game against Troy with an apparent knee injury.

Troy won the game, 31-24, as Bentley was just 3-for-3 passing for 49 yards.

Bentley is in his first season with South Alabama as a graduate transfer out of Utah. He has played very well thus far and is a big reason for the Jaguars’ 5-3 record, completing 181 passes for 2,073 yards and 15 touchdowns with 5 interceptions through the first 8 games. He’s completed 70 percent of his passes.

Bentley began his college career at South Carolina, where he played from 2016-2019.
