Another FBS program that had been riding the 2021 coaching carousel has found its man.
According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Akron will hire Joe Moorhead as its new head coach.
An official announcement is expected sometime Saturday.

Moorhead spent the last 2 seasons as Oregon’s quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, but he does have head-coaching experience.
The 48-year-old was the head coach at Mississippi State in 2018-19 before being let go after compiling a 14-12 mark in 2 seasons.
Moorhead was also the head coach at Fordham from 2012-15, where he had an overall record of 38-13.
Additionally, Moorhead has tied to Akron. He was an assistant coach with the Zips from 2004-08.
Tom Arth had been fired by the school In November after posting a 2-7 record this season, He was just 3-24 overall in 3 seasons.
