Ainias Smith weighs in on arrest for DWI, missing SEC Media Days

Published:
Ainias Smith, Texas A&M’s speedy do-it-all playmaker, was supposed to be at SEC Media Days in Atlanta last month.
But, the day before the Aggies’ appearance, Smith was arrested and charged with DWI in addition to some other offenses. However, after the legal process played out, it was determined that Smith was within the legal limit for BAC and will not face charges.
On Wednesday, Smith met with the media in College Station and was asked about missing Media Days:

“I would definitely say I was pretty disappointed,” Smith said. “Just the fact that it was a great opportunity to build my brand and get a little bit more exposure out there for myself and then also just going in and representing A&M. Now that that’s passed, not able to worry about that any more. I’m excited to play ball. That’s all I’ve got left now.”
He also weighed in on the legal process that followed his arrest:

Having Smith cleared is a big boost for the Aggies, as they will count on Smith to provide some big plays in the passing game (and perhaps even a few in the running game). Now, the attention shifts back to the battle for the starting quarterback position in College Station!
