Florida’s Latroy Pittman, Marcus Maye and Alex McCalister have been suspended for the season opener for violating school policy, the university announced Friday.

Maye, who recorded 62 tackles last fall, is a key player in the Gators’ secondary, one of the league’s top returning units against the pass. McCalister’s expected to step into a starting role within the front seven this season as an athletic pass rusher.

Pittman caught 15 passes as a reserve wide receiver as a junior. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
