Nick Saban wasn’t satisfied with the way Alabama recruited in the 2018 class. The Crimson Tide finished with the No. 6 overall class in the country.

Yes, the Tide won another national championship, but that wasn’t good enough for Saban. The Tide’s head coach retooled Alabama’s staff to recruit stronger and harder, and it’s already paying off.

Following a big week that saw four commitments, Alabama now has the No. 1 class in college football, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Tide recently landed commitments from 4-star OT Tanner Bowles Sunday and 4-star QB Taulia Tagovailoa Saturday. Four-star LB Shane Lee and 4-star in-state CB Christian Williams committed earlier this week. This doesn’t even take into effect 4-star WR Dazalin Worsham, who also committed this week in the class of 2020.

As it stands right now, Alabama has just one 5-star commitment in OT Pierce Quick. Quick attends the same high school as 4-star QB Paul Tyson, who is also committed to the Tide and happens to be Bear Bryant’s great grandson.

The Crimson Tide now have 10 commitments for the class of 2019, and there are no signs of slowing down.

Yes, Alabama has always recruited well under Saban, but the way he revamped his staff to get younger and better on the recruiting trail is impressive. Saban is just never satisfied and will always be looking to get better in every facet.
