After four seasons on Alabama’s coaching staff, former Crimson Tide defensive back Nick Perry is on the move. The Atlanta Falcons announced Saturday that Perry has been hired as the team’s new assistant defensive backs coach.

Perry played at Alabama from 2010-14, a period that included back-to-back BCS national championships in 2011 and ’12. In his senior season, Perry recorded 80 total tackles, including 51 solo stops, as a starting safety for the 2014 squad.

Perry signed with the Baltimore Ravens following the 2015 NFL Draft and spent some time with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad in 2016 before being released.

Perry returned to Tuscaloosa in 2017. He was part of Alabama’s staff the past four seasons as a graduate assistant and an analyst. The Crimson Tide appeared in three national championship games over that four-season period, winning two.
