No. 9 Alabama basketball got a big win Saturday night over No. 14 Houston. The one-point victory came down to a controversial finish.

JD Davison made the key plays on offense and defense in the final minute to lift Nate Oats’ squad to victory. Davison scored the go-ahead points to make it 83-82 with just over 32 seconds remaining. On Houston’s final possession, Davison made the key swat to keep the Cougars from scoring before the buzzer. Houston argued that Davison should have been called for goaltending.

“If I was in their shoes, I’d be looking for a goal-tending call too,” Oats said after the game, per AL.com’s Mike Rodak.

“I think they wanted a review,” Oats added. “I looked at it from a lot of different angles. It was nowhere close to being in the cylinder, from what I saw.”
